The likes of Jack White, Nas, Elton John, The Avett Brothers, Beck, Alabama Shakes and more will all take part in a new, three-part documentary about the roots of recorded music in America.
American Epic, produced by White alongside T Bone Burnett and Robert Redford, will air this fall on PBS, featuring performances of songs as far back as the 1920s by the aforementioned artists as well as appearances by Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Steve Martin, Taj Mahal and others.
A soundtrack of the performances will also be released by Columbia Records, while White's Third Man Records will release a deluxe vinyl set.
