When Community returns for its sixth season, the study group will be minus yet another original member.

TV Guide is reporting Yvette Nicole Brown has left the cult comedy ahead of its revival on Yahoo! Screen.

According to the site, Brown has been released early from her contract so that she can take care of her ailing father.

"My dad needs daily care and he needs me," the actress said in a statement. "The idea of being away 16 hours a day for five months, I couldn't do it. It was a difficult decision for me to make, but I had to choose my dad."

Brown is still set to recur on CBS' upcoming comedy revival, The Odd Couple, which is a multi-cam series and has a more flexible production schedule.

She added: "[The show is] going to be fine. Greendale is the heart of the show, not any particular character. Even if characters come and go, the heart of Greendale remains."

Community is expected to up its cast upon its return, making up for losses that also include Jonathan Banks, who is heading to AMC's Better Call Saul, and Donald Glover, who left last season to focus on his music.
