In light of his show's recent cancellation, Community creator Dan Harmon is encouraging fans who are holding on to hope of its resurrection. But he's also expressing contentment should this truly be the end.

In a new blog post, Harmon took issue with an "industry gossip blog" that suggested he wasn't interested in fighting to possibly keep his show alive on alternative outlets such as Netflix or cable. While he admits having a wide range of emotions following his call from Sony (the production company), he insists he is "not going to be the guy that recancels cancelled Community."

Ultimately, Harmon concluded that it's quite realistic the show has run its course and it may simply be time to move on. He encouraged fans to "sit back and treat yourself" to shows such as fellow NBC comedy Parks and Recreation; Fox's New Girl, The Mindy Project and Brooklyn Nine-Nine; AdultSwim's Eagleheart; IFC's Portlandia; long-running British comedy Toast of London; and Harmon's own animated series Rick and Morty.

Harmon discouraged fans from rioting or stressing out too much about the news, and advised that everyone "let the suits deal with the suits and see what possibilities exist. That’s the best we can do for now. Ninety seven episodes. Over eighty pretty good ones. Mission accomplished."
