Alec Baldwin Taking Over as Donald Trump on 'Saturday Night Live'

Alec Baldwin will be portraying Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live when the sketch comedy series returns for its 42nd season this Saturday.

NBC revealed the news Tuesday, essentially confirming this week's premiere will open with a parody of the first presidential debate, with Kate McKinnon in her Emmy-winning role of Hillary Clinton and Baldwin as the alleged billionaire.

This is hardly Baldwin's first stint as a Republican businessman. Like Trump, he played one for seven seasons on 30 Rock.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Baldwin will also maintain the Trump role for the entire SNL season, taking over from alum Darrell Hammond, who lampooned the Republican presidential nominee last season.

Saturday Night Live's 42nd season kicks off this Saturday at 11:30 p.m. EST, with host Margot Robbie and musical guest The Weeknd.
