G.O.O.D. Music's 'Cruel Summer' Good For No. 2 on Charts

Going head-to-head for No. 1 this week on the new Billboard charts were P!nk's Truth About Love and Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music album Cruel Summer. Unfortunately for Kanye & Co., it looks like P!nk won.

A delay in the release to iTunes likely didn't help Cruel Summer's chances. It wasn't until late last Tuesday that Def Jam Records confirmed the set would finally be released due to last-minute mastering. Had there been no delay, the numbers might have been much closer, but here are the totals:

Truth About Love - 261,000 units sold
Cruel Summer - 216,000 units sold

Final numbers may change when Soundscan and Billboard officially announce the tallies on Wednesday. Other new albums also made the top 10, including The Killers' Battle Born (No. 3) with 115,000, Carly Rae Jepsen's KISS (No. 6) with 41,000, and Grizzly Bear's Shields (No. 7) with 40,000.

By comprison, Kanye West's last solo album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy sold roughly 496,000 copies in its first week, and Kanye and Jay-Z's Watch The Throne moved 436,079 copies in its opening week.
