Adele's 'Skyfall' Theme Tracking High Debut Sales

Adele's highly-anticipated "Skyfall" theme, titled after the much-hyped new James Bond film of the same name, finally released late Thursday. Although debuting very late in the week, the song is expected to sell as many as 200,000 to 250,000 downloads by Sunday night, the end of the sales tracking week. So far, the single has already garnered an explosive 21 million audience impressions, as of Saturday evening, according to Billboard.

The song is selling huge digitally, having been No. 1 on iTunes since it became available. Label insiders claim the song doubled its sales on Friday compared to the previous day, which makes it slightly harder to track, especially because the track has only had three days on the chart, compared to a full week like most other singles.

Regardless of first week numbers, this one song, which is Adele's first studio recording in more than 18 months, likely has a long future ahead.
