As anticipation continues to build for Miguel's upcoming album, he's now in negotiations to star in a musical romantic film produced by none other than John Legend.

Variety reports that Legend's Get Lifted Film Co. and Furst Films have teamed up for an untitled drama about a one hit wonder (played by Miguel) hired to coach a potential singing competition contestant, who reignites the former's love for music. So the storyline sounds terrible.

Legend, fresh off his Oscar win for Best Original Song for Selma's "Glory," is expected to curate the music for the film, which will begin production this September in Philadelphia.

As we previously reported, RCA president of urban music Mark Pitts said back in February that Miguel's latest album is "90 percent done. Its working title is Wild Heart and we're talking second quarter."
