'Happy Endings' Writers Hint at Mysterious 'New Day'

The writers of defunct cult comedy Happy Endings are stirring some excitement with a mysterious tweet on Friday.

After directing fans back in October to "unfollow" the @happyendings Twitter account (run by writers of the ABC show) and instead follow @marrymewrites (David Caspe created both NBC's new comedy Marry Me and Endings), the account has now shared a countdown stating, "It’s almost a new day."

The countdown ends on April 1, which might normally be cause for concern. But it seems unlikely this would be an April Fools' Day prank.

Although Elisha Cuthbert is starring in NBC’s upcoming One Big Happy and Zachary Knighton is co-starring in Fox’s upcoming Weird Loners, Marry Me (which co-stars Casey Wilson's) remains on the bubble for renewal, while Adam Pally, Eliza Coupe and Damon Wayans Jr. suddenly have openings in their schedules.

A full-on revival of the series would seem difficult at this point, but it's not impossible. For now, we'll just have to wait.
