AARP Is Trying to Find a New 'Superstar' Over 50

AARP, the group once known as the American Association of Retired Persons, doesn't think superstars should only be teens and 20-somethings.

The company has launched a contest "to find the next 50+ musical phenomenon." And they're totally serious. Julian Hernandez, 60, and Ká Wright, 51, were declared the "co-winners" of last year's inaugural competition.

"This is a chance of a lifetime for those who have always believed in their voice, but haven't had the right opportunity to showcase their talents," said AARP representative Myrna Blyth in a statement.

Anyone over 50 can submit their music now through mid-March, when AARP members 45 and older will be allowed to vote for their favorite. So watch your backs, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine!
