Britney Spears is set to guest star on the upcoming sophomore season of The CW's Jane the Virgin, the singer revealed Tuesday afternoon on Twitter.

The network has subsequently confirmed the pop star will appear in the fifth episode of the new season, playing a "nemesis" to Rogelio de la Vega (Jaime Camil).

During The CW's Television Critics Association panel on Tuesday, executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman said of Spears' role: “Personally, after hearing about their long standing feud (from Rogelio’s point of view), we are eager to hear Ms. Spears’ side of the story, which we assume is quite different.”

Spears called the comedy "one of my favorite shows EVER" and her guest gig a "#DreamComeTrue."

Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez earlier this year won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical. The show returns Oct. 19.
