Update (April 2): It should come as no surprise that Ferrell has released a statement saying because of the press leak (on April Fool's Day), this movie is no longer happening. Read it below (via Entertainment Weekly).

"We are deeply disappointed that our planned top secret project was made public. Kristen and I have decided it is in the best interest for everyone to forego the project entirely, and we thank Lifetime and all the people who were ready to help us make this film."

Good news for fans of Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell and/or Lifetime movies, as the duo has secretly filmed a dramatic thriller aiming for a an early summer premiere.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the flick—titled A Deadly Adoption—is a "campy and fun ... contemporary wink" at Lifetime's once trademark, made-for-TV movies. It stars Wiig and Ferrell as a successful couple who open their home for an expectant woman hoping to adopt her unborn child. Their plan ultimately backfires though.

Lifetime celebrates 25 years of making TV movies this July.
