The Grammys were unsurprisingly the most-watched broadcast on television Sunday night with an early estimated 26.2 million viewers, but the annual awards ceremony saw sizable dips from last year.

According to Nielsen, the show averaged an 8.8 rating/23 share of the coveted 18-49 demo, which marks a decrease of 10% in the demo from last year (9.9/25 in 18-49, 28.51 million total viewers).

As we predicted back in November, viewership was likely affected by the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead, which aired during the 9 p.m. hour.

The final numbers are due later on Monday, but this might be a good time to bring up that pesky West Coast tape delay issue again.
