Parks and Recreation will begin its seventh and final season on Jan. 13, NBC revealed Monday.

The veteran comedy is moving from its long-held Thursday time slot to Tuesdays, where it will air back-to-back episodes every week at 8 p.m.

Interestingly, the network is waiting until Parks' last episode to give it a much-needed ratings boost, with the show's series finale airing Tuesday, Feb. 24 after the premiere of The Voice.

NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement: “In an effort to give it the send-off it deserves, we wanted to ‘eventize’ the final season to maximize the impact of these episodes, which really do take the show to a new level."
