Longtime friends Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses and Iron & Wine’s Sam Beam will release a collaborative covers album this summer, the pair announced Thursday morning.

Titled Sing Into My Mouth, the 12-track collection will feature the musicians' interpretations of songs that have impacted their own musical journeys, including music from Sade, Bonnie Raitt, JJ Cale, Spiritualized and more.

“This is truly a 'full circle' moment for me," said Bridwell in a statement. "I've always wanted us to sing together and finally I have that dream realized."

Adds Beam: “When we finally conceived of the covers project and carved out some time, it was nostalgic and fun from top to bottom—the process of picking the songs to cover was really reminiscent of more than 15 years ago when we used to mail each other cassettes and CDs of music we were into."

The pair will perform together this summer at the Newport Folk Festival, the MoPop Festival in Detroit and Montreal's Osheaga. Additional dates are forthcoming, as is an official release date for Sing Into My Mouth.
