Kanye West has been charged with misdemeanor battery and attempted grand theft over a scuffle with a member of the paparazzi.

Photographer Daniel Ramos alleges that he was punched by the rapper, who supposedly wrestled his camera to the ground during an incident in July at Los Angeles International Airport.

Luckily for Ramos, celebrity attorney Gloria Alred—known for taking controversial cases, especially high-profile ones—is representing the photographer.

If convicted, West would face a maximum of one year in jail. His arraignment is set for Oct. 10.
