Tim Burton's upcoming Christmas release, Big Eyes, is expected to feature two new tracks from Lana Del Rey.
"I Can Fly" will track the closing credits of the Amy Adams-led film, while the title track will appear "prominently," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Tim showed [Del Rey] the film and she fell in love with it,” producer/co-writer Larry Karaszewski said in an interview, discussing the picture's feminist inclinations. “Women in particular seem to get the movie, and Lana really got the movie. The whole thing is about a woman who can’t find her voice ... Lana’s song expresses what Margaret [Adams' character] is feeling so perfectly, it’s like a soliloquy of her inner thoughts.”
Although Del Rey's “Young and Beautiful" from last year's Great Gatsby didn't receive Oscar love, THR points out that "Big Eyes" could give the singer another shot at next year's ceremony.
