To those who were displeased with Arrested Development's clunky timeline in its Netflix-exclusive fourth season, creator Mitch Hurwitz says he plans to release a re-edited edition which will run in chronological order.
The producer has previously explained the unusual structure of the show when it returned last year was due to the cast's schedule conflicts, which made it nearly impossible to shoot everyone at the same time.
Hurwitz said in the new interview that he originally intended to create nine webisodes showing each character's current status leading up to a potential movie, but "then the press came out, 'Arrested's coming back, Arrested's coming back!' So I felt this pull like, 'I don't have the whole cast, but I'm going to have to deliver on this somehow."
He went on to once again suggest "there's more of a story that has to be told somehow ... season four was always meant to be act one of the three-act structure where everything goes sour."
