XX's XX has been declared the 2014 Mercury Prize winner, walking away with Britain's top album award during Wednesday's annual ceremony, which featured live performances from many of the nominees.

As we previously mentioned, contenders for this year's Prize included Damon Albarn, FKA twigs, Jungle, Royal Blood, Bombay Bicycle Club and more.

Last year's winner was James Blake's Overgrown, which was also Variance's 2013 Album of the Year. Alt-J's An Awesome Wave won in 2012.
