Lana Del Rey is keeping things interesting ahead of her forthcoming album, Ultraviolence.
In a strange revelation, the singer told The Guardian in a new interview that Lou Reed was planning to make an appearance on "Brooklyn Baby," which is on the new album. "I took the red eye, touched down at 7 a.m.," she said. "And two minutes later he died."
While discussing the early deaths of Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain, the singer said: "I wish I was dead already." Caught off guard, writer Tim Jonze suggested she couldn't be serious, to which she responded: "I do! I don't want to have to keep doing this ... Everything. That's just how I feel. If it wasn't that way, then I wouldn't say it."
Update: On the same day that her depressing interview with The Guardian was published, Del Rey's new song "Is This Happiness" has surfaced online. The track is an iTunes bonus cut off Ultraviolence, which arrives on Tuesday. Listen below.
