After his new "Sweatpants" video quietly made its way to the Web, Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) took to Twitter on Monday morning to once again express dissatisfaction in the way his label has handled this latest promotional effort.

Telling fans the video and corresponding blog post "was important to us," he went on to say "it wasn't handled correctly." He continued: "We were told a lot of things were gonna happen and they were all lies. So I'm done. Someone buy me out of this contract [with Glassnote Records]."

The multi-hyphenate further revealed that after the release of his latest project, Because the Internet, other labels such as Def Jam and Atlantic pursued him. "All those people are welcome now," he said. "I don't like record companies. But I'm not having another project go through this."

At press time, we have yet to receive an email or notice from Gambino's label to push his latest video, although the company's Twitter handle has actively tweeted various updates about the rapper's surprise appearance over the weekend at Coachella.

It's worth noting Gambino's latest project, arguably his best, has been consistently plagued with delays. After months of teasing last year, Gambino revealed in an open letter last October that the label was having doubts about his ability to sell because he's "not a big artist." When the letter went viral, Glassnote assigned a December release date.

Because the Internet ultimately gave Gambino his first top 10 record, selling more than 96,000 copies in its first week. It was one of Variance's Top 25 Albums of 2013.
