Following the death of Paul Walker, the upcoming Fast & Furious 7 has been delayed by nine months, now releasing on April 10, 2015.

The film was originally set to open this coming July. But Vin Diesel confirmed Sunday night on Facebook that the movie will be delayed, as a result of significant production changes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal execs have been trying to find a way to utilize footage already shot while writers are reworking the script to ultimately "retire Walker's character from the series."

Diesel wrote to fans: "The last scene we filmed together…There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we've come… Fast and Furious 7 will be released… April 10th 2015! P.s. He'd want you to know first…"
