Lorde announced on Friday that Maryland singer-songwriter Matthew Hemerlein (aka Lo-Fang) will open for her on her upcoming North American tour.
According to Hemerlein, the 17-year-old singer reached out to him personally and the two eventually met up after one of his shows. Of Lorde, he told Billboard: "I really like her music, first of all, and it goes without saying that she's really talented."
The "Royals" singer previously named Lo-Fang's "#88" one of her top 10 songs of 2013 and earlier this month she shared a photo of herself and Hemerlein, whose debut album, Blue Film, is due Feb. 25 via 4AD. Only days after his album releases, he'll be hitting the road as the duo kicks off their tour March 3 in Austin.
See the dates with Lorde below. He is also performing solo on Jan. 22 at New York's Mercury Lounge.
