Former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins was sentenced on Wednesday to 29 years in prison and six additional years probation for multiple sexual acts against young children, including trying to rape a 1-year-old baby.

36-year-old Watkins pleaded guilty last month 13 different charges, while his co-defendants, the mothers of the children he abused, were also imprisoned for 14 and 17 years for their role as "active participants in the most shocking abuse of their own children."

Among Watkins' charges were three counts of sexual assault involving children, seven involving taking, making or possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.

During the sentencing, Judge John Royce said Watkins had a "corrupting influence", while showing a "complete lack of remorse." Speaking to the women, he said that "what you were both doing is both sickening and incomprehensible," telling one of the women that she didn't even regard her child as a human being.

According to Detective Chief Inspector Peter Doyle, authorities are currently pursuing additional leads in Germany and the United States, given the singer's wide touring schedule with his former band.

Lostprophets, a Welsh rock group, disbanded in October following Watkins' arrest.
