Universal will follow Paramount's lead (Anchorman: The Legend Continues) and release its forthcoming comedy sequel Dumb and Dumber To late next year. It is now officially due to arrive in theaters on Nov. 14, 2014.

As we previously reported, the Peter and Bobby Farrelly-directed film reunites Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as their iconic characters Lloyd and Harry, respectively.

The fourth-quarter release is slightly unusual for a comedy like Dumber, but given that the Anchorman sequel appears set to dominate the box office, it may be a smart move for the film, which will likely spend most of next year building buzz as it continues production, much the way Anchorman has done this year.
