After initially being booked for a six-episode arc on New Girl, it turns out Damon Wayans Jr. is sticking around much longer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor has not been secured as a series regular but he will instead continue as a "guest star" through the rest of the current season.

Wayans first appeared in the pilot episode for the Fox comedy, but he was unable to continue when his other show, Happy Endings, was surprisingly renewed.
