Chris Brown Arrested for Assaulting Man in Washington D.C. (Updated)

Chris Brown was arrested Sunday morning in Washington D.C. for felony assault after he allegedly attacked a man outside a hotel.

TMZ has reported that Brown got into an argument with the man and hurled a gay slur outside a party he was hosting at the W Hotel. Brown was reportedly taking a picture with two women, when the victim in question and his buddy "photo bombed" the shot. According to the victim (now known as 20-year-old Isaac Parker), Brown lost his cool, yelling, "I'm not into this gay shit, I'm into boxing," and punched the man.

Brown's bodyguard also got involved in the altercation and both men were ultimately arrested; at press time, both men remain behind bars. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and his nose is reportedly broken.

The singer, who law enforcement says did not appear to be under the influence of anything, is still on probation for assaulting Rihanna in 2009. In June 2012, Brown got into an altercation with Drake at a New York nightclub. Six months later, he allegedly attacked Frank Ocean outside a Los Angeles recording studio. Brown has been in and out of court all year long, after being accused of not completing his community service and receiving a hit-and-run charge.

The singer could be sentenced for nearly four years in prison if this latest incident is viewed as a violation of his probation, which was only reinstated in August.

Brown is supposed to be hosting a Halloween costume party on Thursday in Los Angeles. He is due in court sometime Monday to face charges for this latest offense.

Update (10.28.13): According to court records (via the Washington Post), Brown's assault charge has been lowered from a felony to a misdemeanor. Brown also told police he did not punch the man (Parker), according to court papers.
