André 3000 Reportedly Releasing Solo Album in 2014

Are we finally about to get an André 3000 solo album? The multi-talented musician is reportedly prepping a new record for a 2014 release.

According to longtime BET Exec Stephen Hill, new material will arrive sooner rather than later, tweeting Saturday afternoon: “Me: hey what’s up? You got the movie coming, right? André 3000: yeah…and I got a solo album coming top of the year. Me:*droptofloor*”

Although an album from André has been teased for years, he told GQ earlier this year that "there’s a lot of music on the horizon. I’ve been living off the excitement of new artists ... For the last two years, I’ve been doing collaborations. I don’t know when [the album] will come out, but hopefully it’ll come out this year.”

He collaborated this year with Capital Cities on "Farrah Fawcett Hair," and just last month, Mike WiLL Made It shared a video of André in the studio, with the caption: “Im sorry Ms.Jackson…. 3staxx voice. #StayTuned.”

A song titled "Eden" surfaced on the Internet, but André's rep has since confirmed to Variance that the clip was not real.

Update (08.03.13, 11:45 p.m. EST): André 3000's rep—in response to his earlier comments—tells Variance they aren't yet "able to provide an official confirmation" regarding the upcoming album release date, instead opting to neither confirm/deny the reports.
