Thom Yorke is surprised by fans' support of Radiohead newest album, A Moon Shaped Pool, having apparently expected most to have abandoned the band by now.

"We expected the opposite reaction," the Radiohead frontman told Q magazine in his first interview since the album's release. "I cherish the band, but I don’t expect anyone else to.”

A Moon Shaped Pool debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in May, marking the group's sixth top 10 album and their largest sales week in 13 years, surpassing their 2011 album The King of Limbs (69,000) with 173,000 sold in its first week.

Radiohead has a handful of international shows scheduled before heading to the States and wrapping their small tour with a headlining performance at Austin City Limits Music Festival in October.
