Death Cab for Cutie had a very special guest during their performance Friday night at Lollapalooza.

Before closing out with "Soul Meets Body," Ben Gibbard and Co. brought out Chance the Rapper to perform their collaboration "Do You Remember," off Chance's new album The Big Day, which was released last week.

While Chance wasn't on the Lolla lineup this year (he headlined two years ago), there was plenty of speculation about an appearance this weekend because of the convenient timing of the album's release.

Gibbard had actually teased Chance's cameo earlier in Death Cab's set. Before performing "I Will Follow You Into the Dark," he said he added the song "last minute" to the setlist only by request from a prominent Chicago artist.

The performance of "Do You Remember" tonight was the first time it's been performed live. And it likely wasn't an appearance many fans were expecting.
