Lizzo's incredible year continued Tuesday with news her hit single "Truth Hurts" has climbed to No. 1 on the U.S. charts.

After an uptick in sales last week, the song climbed from No. 3 to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Lizzo her first chart-topper, albeit two years after the track was first released.

As Billboard notes, "Truth Hurts" was initially released in September 2017 but received new attention when it was featured earlier this year in Netflix's Someone Great, prompting the singer to include it in her new album Cuz I Love You, released back in May.

The song got a welcome boost this past week with Lizzo's MTV VMAs performance as well as a recent performance on NBC's Today show and two new remixes released last week, all likely aiding this week's numbers for "Truth Hurts."

In response to the song's achievement, Lizzo tweeted, "This is a W for all of us. Anybody who ever felt like they voice wasn't heard. Anybody who felt like they weren't good enough. You are. We are. Champions."
