It appears Maya Rudolph's long-teased variety series may soon have a co-headliner in Martin Short.

TVLine is reporting the NBC project, which the network previewed last May with a one-hour special called The Maya Rudolph Show, is likely adding Short as co-host alongside Rudolph.

The show, tentatively titled Maya & Marty, has previously been eyed by NBC as a possible companion series for Neil Patrick Harris' own upcoming variety program Best Time Ever, which is already part of the network's 2015-16 lineup.
