London-based outfit Arliston is back this week with new music, starting with their new single "Mothering."

The band is releasing the riveting new track tomorrow (Friday), but they're giving us an early listen, premiering it on Variance today ahead of the song's official arrival. Recorded at Dock Street Studios in East London, the song marks the start of a new chapter for Arliston and the first single off their new Even in the Shade EP, which is expected to be released later this year.

The new music follows the band's 2018 Hawser EP and their more recent The Ground Might Disappear EP, which was released earlier this year.

"I’m so happy with how this one came together," says the band's George Hasbury. "We always try to keep a lid on the productions. It’s too easy nowadays to use all the toys on every song! But with 'Mothering' I think we’ve managed to get a real sense of groove and momentum into such a small arrangement”

Adds bandmate Jack Ratcliffe: "This one grabbed us the moment we started writing it, and hasn’t really let go since. There’s something about how it all fits together that is deeply satisfying. It was the first song we wrote after The Ground Might Disappear and once we had the sound and feel of the first take down, we knew we had to build an EP around it.”

It's such a brilliant listen. Hear it now below.
