Ellie Goulding is following up her sold-out U.K. tour, her North American trek with Bruno Mars and the release of Halcyon Days with a showcase of her acting ability, starring in the new short film Tom & Issy.
Shot entirely on a Nokia Lumia 1020 and directed by Roger Michell (Notting Hill, Changing Lanes), the feature stars Goulding (Issy) with actor Dylan Stevens (Tom)—and a Lumia 1020, if you count the number of scenes in which the device is included.
Written by Stefan Georgiou and Sam Bern, the short follows two roommates (Tom and Issy), the former of which whisks the latter away from her unappreciative boyfriend to drive around London for the day, daring each other to do things they’ve never done before. It culminates in an open mic night on a rooftop bar, where Issy hopes to find it within herself to sing in public for the first time.
Portions of the short were featured in Goulding's new video for "How Long Will I Love You," a song which is included prominently in Tom & Issy.
