It was election night in America on Tuesday, but the actual party was at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago, where Maisie Peters delivered a breathtaking headline show as she treks across North America for a small run of shows following her tour earlier this year.
The British singer, whose debut album You Signed Up for This arrived last year, has been on tour for much of the year, either on her own or supporting Ed Sheeran's whopping, 54-date European tour. And she'll join him again next year as Sheeran comes back to America for his own North American trek with the likes of Khalid and Russ supporting in addition to Peters.
In the midst of all this excitement and busyness, Peters has been gifting fans with a surge of new music, including a handful of new singles, most recently her standout "Not Another Rockstar."
We recently chatted with the singer about all the new music and the status of her upcoming followup to You Signed Up for This, which she says she'll release next year. "I'm in the thick of it right now," she said, speaking with Variance last month.
"Some of these songs are just from the middle of the journey and moments I loved," she noted of the recent singles. "I've got so much music that I want to share and only so much space on the album."
After Tuesday's Chicago show, Peters next heads to California for a pair of shows, one in San Francisco on Nov. 11 and another in Los Angeles on Nov. 14.
