Coming out of Nashville, Briston Maroney’s latest track, “Sunburn Fades” serves as the second single from his forthcoming album, Ultrapure, set to drop on Sept. 22 via Canvasback Music/Atlantic Records.

Produced by Daniel Tashian, the acoustic-driven “Sunburn Fades” lyricizes and recalls the story of a trip to Dollywood taken by Maroney and his friend. The themes of the song concentrate on the growth, changes, and coming-of-age values that relate to the journey that life brings. To further speak on the genesis of the song, Maroney states:

“It was this perfect movie moment. I wish I could've stopped time because I know that life was inevitably going to take us all in different directions. But the song isn't supposed to be sad, it’s about how inevitable that change is… It's also me reflecting on friendships + relationships changing. I think it might be my favorite song on the album because I've been trying to describe this feeling for a long time, and I feel like I finally did.”
