Nine months after the release of J. Cole's latest album 2014 Forest Hills Drive, it has become the rapper's first million-selling LP.

Nielsen Music confirmed this week that as of Sept. 3, Cole's critically acclaimed set sold an additional 6,000 copies, pushing it just over the platinum threshold for a total of 1.004 million units.

Coincidentally, Drive has not received much commercial promotion and it was launched without an official radio single, in contrast to the MC's 2013 album Born Sinner, which has sold 747,000 thus far.

As we previously mentioned, 2014 Forest Hills Drive is also a strong contender for the 2016 Grammys' Best Rap Album category.
