Selena Gomez on Saturday offered an emotional and heartbreaking tribute to her friend Christina Grimmie, who died early Saturday morning after a 27-year-old man shot her during a meet-and-greet at her show in Orlando.

During her show Saturday night in Miami, Gomez explained that she and her parents signed Grimmie when she was only 14, recalling that "she holds her faith so closely to her ... and I don't really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this next song to her."

Gomez then proceeded to sing a tearful rendition of Hillsong Worship's "Transfiguration," a song she has previously performed on her current tour.

Later in the show, Gomez again became visibly overwhelmed while performing "Nobody," struggling to finish the song while appearing to mouth the words, "I'm sorry."

Watch her performance of "Transfiguration" below.
