It's been nearly six years, but Sky Ferreira is finally ready to share new music.

She returned Wednesday with her new single "Downhill Lullaby," a brooding, six-minute cut serving as the first preview of her upcoming album Masochism, which is said to be coming later this year. It marks her first music since her 2013 debut Night Time, My Time.

Masochism has been in the works for a few years already, having first been teased back in 2015. Ferreira said in 2017 she was "in a good place" and hard at work on new music, but last year, she revealed her label had locked her out of her own SoundCloud account, suggesting a battle over her new material.

With the release of "Downhill Lullaby," it seems the world is finally about to hear what she's been working on over the last few years. According to Capitol Records, the new song was recorded in and arranged in Los Angeles and Copenhagen.
