Ruston Kelly is definitely wearing his heart on his sleeves on his new single "Radio Cloud," which arrived Friday.

The gut-wrenching new track is the latest preview of the singer's upcoming album Shape & Destroy, which will be out in August via Rounder Records. It's another emotional offering off what will clearly be a very personal record from Kelly, following the song "Rubber," which was released earlier this month.

"Making this record definitely taught me that I don’t want to be selfish," says Kelly. "I want to channel something larger than myself and give myself to the process as fully as possible, because these songs also become the story of whoever hears them. Whatever someone might get out of listening to this record and hearing me express myself in this way, it’s completely theirs."

Shape & Destroy, which arrives Aug. 28, was co-produced by Kelly alongside longtime collaborator Jarrad K, recorded at Dreamland Recording Studios in upstate New York. It's said to document Kelly's journey of maintaining his sobriety and facing his past with unvarnished honesty.

In addition to Kelly and Jarrad's own vocals and instrumentation, the upcoming album also features Kelly’s father Tim “TK” Kelly on steel guitar and background vocals), with background vocals from sister Abby Kelly and wife Kacey Musgraves.
