Janelle Monáe, by Jairo Cruz

Janelle Monáe is lending her voice to the fight for fair elections. Her new song "Turntables" arrived Tuesday, and it finds the singer-actress, who has long been a vocal activist, giving voice to the ongoing battle against voter suppression.

The riveting new song was written for and is featured in the upcoming Amazon Studios documentary All In: The Fight for Democracy, which premieres in select theaters nationwide tomorrow (Sept. 9) before its full release Sept. 18 on Amazon Prime Video.

All In: The Fight for Democracy is described as pulling back the curtain on the growing issue of voter suppression in the United States, highlighting the problem ahead of the 2020 Presidential election. It was directed by Liz Garbus and Lisa Cortés, who produced it alongside Dan Cogan and Stacey Abrams, the latter of whom created the voter advocacy group Fair Fight Action and provides personal perspective throughout the film.
