The National frontman Matt Berninger has officially released his solo debut.

Serpentine Prison, his first album without his bandmates, arrived Friday, and it's a truly captivating experience. Produced by famed Memphis musician, songwriter and producer Booker T. Jones, it's out now via Book's Records, a new imprint formed by both Berninger and Jones in conjunction with Concord Records.

While it is Berninger's first solo effort, he certainly didn't create the record all on his own. In addition to Jones' work, the record features contributions from and collaborations with the likes of Matt Barrick, Andrew Bird, Ben Lanz, Hayden Desser, Harrison Whitford and more.

In addition to the release on streaming platforms, vinyl, hardcopy CD and various merchandise bundles are also available for purchase.
