Mulholland Blond has one more before the new year! On Thursday, the Sydney-based artist shared his new song "Stay."

The heartfelt new offering follows his previously released singles "Dreams" and "Recover." But unlike the frothy, playful vibes of some of his material, which leans in on his undeniable knack for making sensual pop cuts, this new track comes across as truly earnest, evidence of his more vulnerable and confessional side as an artist.

"'Stay' was written after I almost lost someone very close to me," says Mulholland Blond. "It was a tough time and writing about the experience proved cathartic. Although the song has its own connotations in line with my experience, I wanted it to be universally relatable. By keeping it lyrically indirect, I hope the listener can find their own meaning and pair it with resonating themes within their life."

Mulholland Blond is a Variance favorite who previously caught our attention with a string of impressive singles in 2018. This latest track follows his past singles including "Control," "Fever" and "XXX," and it seems to be setting the stage for what he has planned for 2021.
