Isaac Holman has officially unveiled his debut album as Baby Dave.

The rollout, which began last summer, culminated on Friday with the release of his debut album Monkey Brain, a weird, fascinating new project which the Slaves frontman has released independently.

As we previously mentioned, Holman collaborated with Damon Albarn on the new record, as Albarn co-produced "around half" of the 12 songs while playing various instruments throughout.

The record formed as the result of coming out on the other side of a serious mental breakdown and moving back in with his parents as he began feeling suicidal while questioning if he'd make music again, all before the pandemic.

Monkey Brain is collection of tunes written from shortly after a debilitating mental breakdown at the start of 2019, up until now," says Holman. "I don’t know where this project would be if it wasn’t for [Albarn] and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him and observe his wizardry. It was a proper game changer for me. Thank you for your patience, it shouldn’t have taken this long but ongoing issues with my mental health have made putting this record together incredibly challenging. Here we are though, we got there in the end."
