Josh Ritter has the perfect remedy for the Monday blues this week, as the Idaho native has shared a boisterous new song "Getting Ready to Get Down."

The track, which is a blunt but humorous tale of sex and religion, is the first track Ritter has shared off his upcoming new album, brilliantly titled Sermon on the Rocks, a not-so-subtle reference to the record's contents.

The singer confirmed Monday the album, which he recorded in New Orleans, will arrive on Oct. 16, marking his first LP since 2013's The Beast in Its Tracks.

Listen to "Getting Ready to Get Down" below (via NPR) and stay tuned for Ritter's new tour dates, which have yet to be revealed.
