Saturday Night Live returned on Saturday for its first installment of the new year, and it came out swinging.

The Kevin Hart-hosted episode opened with a sketch starring Kenan Thompson as a vision of Martin Luther King, Jr. The skit poked fun at the much-criticized lack of diversity in this year's Oscar nominees (specifically for Selma) and also took a jab at America's new form of "protesting": using "movement" hashtags from the comfort for their home.

Hart then opened with an epic monologue about being afraid of animals in the dark, followed by a sketch mocking Justin Bieber's recent Calvin Klein underwear ad.

Sia will also perform two songs, including "Elastic Heart," during the show.
