Drake has scrapped the remaining dates on his Summer Sixteen Tour.
The Toronto rapper last week canceled three shows, including one in his hometown, due to an injury to his ankle. While he had intended to resume his touring schedule this week, his rep confirmed Monday his injury is too severe for him to continue and he will instead focus on recovering, per doctor's orders.
"Drake suffered a severe ankle injury during the tour which he did his best to power through. By doing this, he made his injury worse," a statement released today read. "Under doctors orders and to ensure Drake only ever gives fans the performances they deserve, he will be postponing the remaining 3 dates of his Summer Sixteen tour to allow him time to recuperate his ankle injury. Drake's fans mean the world to him. Seeing their faces and performing his music for them is what he loves to do the most and he can't wait to get back on stage."
The next live shows on Drake's schedule take him to Europe, starting in January with a two-night stint in the Netherlands.
