Today, we're introducing a new series called Sharpside Sessions, a sequence of conversations with artists in a unique, intimate setting—at Sharpside Barbershop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It's a collaboration between Variance, Ghost Cat Productions and Sharpside, presented by Pop House.

The first episode arrives today, a conversation with Oklahoma-based artist Kid Koda, who today dropped his new single "My Whole Life," also the title track off his debut EP, which is coming very soon.

We chatted with Koda after hours at Sharpside about his new music, the inspiration behind the new song and the motivation behind his musical pursuit. He says the track is about being comfortable and "putting myself out there, having a good time with the people I love." He adds: "I feel like you can stress yourself about getting that one thing. And we need that. You got to galvanize yourself. You've gotta stress about those things. But at what point is that tainting the outcome, where it's like, spoiling the prize?"
