Rhys Lewis is previewing a new album coming bright and early next year, but first, he's sharing a very emotional new single called "The Middle."

The gut-wrenching new track arrived Friday, and it's sure to be a scorcher for anyone who knows the feeling of being unable to let go of someone in the past.

"'The Middle' was inspired a breakup I went through a few years ago. We both coped with it very differently," says Lewis candidly. "It seemed to hit me harder and I had a tougher time moving on. When we met up again months later, I was still hoping we might get back together, but during our conversation she told me she’d met someone new. I remember trying to be happy for her. One thing I love most about songwriting is that it let’s you turn a sadness into something others might find comfort in. So if you’ve ever been through something similar, I hope this song can be a friend."

The song is accompanied by a stirring video of the singer performing the track in an empty church. It's a preview of his upcoming album Corner of the Sky, which arrives Jan. 20 on Decca Records. So let that one be one of your first listens in 2023!
