Bethany Vargas

Today's the day. BANKS just released her new album Serpentina.

The singer's fourth full-length arrived Friday via AWAL, and it comes as BANKS is also confirming a summer tour with Lauren Jauregui and Cautious Clay on select dates. BANKS was recently announced as part of the Lollapalooza 2022 lineup.

According to BANKS, “Serpentine” was a word she remembered doodling in her school journals, while the “a” at the end represents a feminization of that idea—an embodiment of a kind of snake queen, as she describes it.

This is her first album as an independent artist. “In the past I've been really tight and controlled, and I don't feel like that right now,” says BANKS. “I just feel more wild and free.”
