Following the release of Monday's new track "Cole Summer," J. Cole promised fans he would soon drop a second installment of the Truly Yours EP. That certainly didn't take long, as he unleashed the new mixtape Tuesday night. Truly Yours 2 is available now, ahead of his full-length, Born Sinner, which is due June 25.
In order to start the week off right, She & Him's new album, Volume 3, is streaming online ahead of its May 7 release. The latest effort from singer-songwriter Zooey Deschanel and guitarist/producer M. Ward can be heard in advance, via NPR.
Two Atlanta MCs collide in a newly-unveiled track from B.o.B, featuring 2 Chainz. "Headband," produced by DJ Mustard, first arrived in the form of a NSFW lyric video, but that clip has since been removed (presumably by YouTube).
Looks like July 16 is already shaping up to be a busy release day. On Monday alone, Mayer Hawthorne, Pusha T and now Chris Brown have confirmed each of their highly anticipated records will arrive on the same day in July. Brown on Monday revealed the news via Twitter, setting an arrival date for X.
J. Cole on Monday unleashed a soulful new track, "Cole Summer," to promote his forthcoming album, Born Sinner; he literally promotes the new LP at the end of the track, proclaiming, "Born Sinner, June 25." Over the course of the song, he shouts out Tia and Tamara Mowry and Friday Night Lights—in his own way, of course.
It is easily in the running for this year's Song of Summer, and now Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" has received the Daughter treatment, as the London trio has reworked the track into a gentle tune, driven by frontwoman Elena Tonra's haunting vocals.
Ahead of the Iron Man 3 soundtrack's release this Tuesday (April 30), two of the included tracks have hit the Web: Imagine Dragons' Alex Da Kid-produced "Ready Aim Fire" and Capital Cities' "One Minute More." Both acts have seen their profile rising in the past year, with Imagine Dragons escalating quickly following the success of their debut album, Night Visions, and Capital Cities currently climbing the charts with one of our favorite tracks of the year, "Safe and Sound."
The full version of Beyoncé and André 3000's cover of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" has finally arrived. Mark Ronson on Friday night premiered the track, which will be included on The Great Gatsby soundtrack, on his East Village Radio program.
For those who can't wait for June 11 when Jimmy Eat World releases their newest album, Damage, the band has released a short "EP" to satisfy fans. The A- and B-sides were made available for Record Store Day, but they can now be heard below. "Damage" is, of course, the title track off the new set, and "Stop Whispering" is a cover of Radiohead's 1993 single off their first album, Pablo Honey.
Now a mere two weeks ahead of the Great Gatsby soundtrack release, another track has been unveiled. The xx's contribution, "Together," which has previously been previewed as a backdrop to the film's teasers, can now be heard in full.
Jessie Ware this week has returned with another cover perfectly suited for her velvety-smooth pop voice. This time, she's covered Martika's "Love... Thy Will Be Done," a track co-written by and produced by Prince.
